Do you want to see what I see when I’m working on your house plans? Here’s a sneak peak:
Sometimes a property has a tight outline of where we are allowed to build. See that pointy shape that looks super odd? That’s the outline of the maximum buildable area. Reading from left to right I start with the plan that the homeowner chooses, and then manipulate it multiple times until it fits within the outline. The plan furthest to the right fits within the buildable area, and still keeps the essence of the original. Once I’ve gotten it to this point, I toss on some measurements and then present it to you for review. Sometimes I can do this in one go, sometimes it’s many more (this one took 6 tries!), it all depends on the chosen plan and the chosen lot and how they fit together from the start.
